Ancestral
Chantelle Morrell
Brett Walker

The next artist I have decided to focus on is Brett Walker. I have chosen to look at this artist due to the unusual style and edits he creates within his work. Within Walker’s work he creates images with a different effect that gives them an impression that can be portrayed as vintage and old-fashioned. The artist I have chosen to focus on is different due to my previous 'Josh Suda' due to the model of the image being at an elder generation. Within some of this artists work they use different tutorials within Photoshop to create edits that can enhance and develop his style of work. In my future work I will look at using different edits and effects to show experimentation within my images. Also this artist uses different angles when taking the images, which can change the overall look of the photo. I will develop my work and look at using a bland background more within my work to develop my ideas and show my response to this artist. I will also look at the lighting I use to show the details within my models facial features. Within all of Brett Walker's work I prefer the images with the elder model. I believe these look much more effective and would tie in with my theme of 'Ancestral' at a higher level. However i would also like to combine my images together to create outcomes using overlay and effects such as sepia and black and white. In my future work I would develop my previous ideas by looking at different ways I can use the camera and develop my technical skills. I will look at different tutorials through photo-shop that will link in with my theme and show a high quality of experimentation and difference within my work to show my variety of skills and ideas. In my first photo-shoot I will look at taking images of my Grandma in her home but against a blank background such as a wall. This will help my ideas progress and give me a starting point within my project that I can develop much further.
